I loved this wedding! (which I know I say a ton..but it’s true!)
I was given the opportunity to meet an amazing couple who love breweries as much as, probably more than, I do! A super fun bonus was that I also traveled up to Northern California and visited The Falls Elk Grove. The brick building made for a great background and made our couple really pop.
We started the day with Melissa and her girls getting their hair and makeup done. Once into her dress, we let Melissa have a moment to remember her sister, who had passed away a few years before. She was represented by the single red rose in Melissa’s perfect purple and white bouquet. What a beautiful way to honor a lost loved one.
During their first look, Evan cried, which is what every girl wants! And who wouldn’t cry? Melissa looked like a princess with her tulle skirt and intricate bodice with detailed appliqué sleeves. It’s something right out of a fairytale.
As is true with most weddings, there were a few mishaps, location changes and some confusion. But in the end, even after losing part of the bridal party at one point, the chaos was laughed off and the celebration continued.
The ceremony, although brief, was greatly focused on the couple promising before God that they’re committed to each other, no matter what. Then it was on to the party!
The reception started with a bang in the form of a choreographed dance to best songs through the ages from the bride and groom! There was plenty of dancing and in the end, the groom was surprised with a maple BACON cake (This was the cake Evan wanted as the actual wedding cake). What a great way to start off a marriage than by compromising! On their way out, guests were gifted a customized “Koozie” in memory of Melissa and Evan’s special day! How fun!
It was a beautiful day and we wish Evan and Melissa all the best as they continue to pursue each other and their commitment to God.
