About a week before the reception Briana and Jordan officially became a “we”! Their ceremony was intimate and family centered (as you can read about here: http://jaymeehorn.wpengine.com/allenwedding ).
THIS was the party! The Allens invited all extended family and good friends to this celebration event. Just as beautiful and elegant as a wedding day, but without all the stress! The day started with all the bridal party and close family showing up and hanging out 30 minutes before the unity ceremony. (Seriously- how laid back is that?!) They were able to sit and finish getting ready inside the beautiful historic home that was built in 1906.
Guests arrived and were invited to sit around the gazebo that is nestled inside the most picturesque garden. The wedding party walked down the aisle, then were able to sit next to their families. Briana was then escorted by her father into the center of the gazebo where the Allen boys (jordan and their son) were waiting. Their pastor and friend then shared the beautiful story of getting to know the couple and how they decided to build a life together centered on God, each other, and their community. (I should say at this point I was tearing up!) Next came their unity service. No candles or sands, instead they planted a tree to help show that they are both fully committed to their life together and watching it be nurtured and grown into one that showcases their love and values. Then both sets of parents were invited up to pray with the couple.
After that the couple changed into party clothes and came into their reception filled with people that were cheering louder than any stadium fans I’ve ever heard! There was the expected dances, hilarious toasts, a friend who serenaded Briana and her father, amazing dinner from The Taco Man, beer from Hamilton Family Brewery, and a doughnut & milk dessert bar. All with the dreamy outdoor setting in front of a Historic Estate Home. More than anything the reception felt like a big community that came together just to celebrate these two finding each other. Everyone danced, every table was laughing, every couple was reminiscing about first being in love, each person (including yours truly) dressed up for a photo booth shot, and the couple made sure to hug and thank every guest.
A stunning, light hearted, welcoming, fun reception for a couple who is all that and more!
