Last night I went to my second photographers meet up in Panorama city.  Our wonderful hosts fed us burgers and fresh watermelon, poolside in their backward.  I was able to meet up with some friends I made at the previous event: two photographers just starting out as well and a few well established photographers.

Well starting the night of i was SO anxious! I mean walking into a party by yourself and only knowing two people that you chatted with a month ago……..SO NOT inside my comfort zone!  Walking up I met another artist who was also nervous to go inside, so we used the buddy system.  Together we ended up meeting about 5 other like minded folks and even kind of formed a posse (yes i just used that word).  of course our little group split and found other people to chat with but throughout the night i was always able to circle back to one of those people that felt just as awkward as i had walking through that door!

What was the point of explaining that?  BECAUSE GOOD THINGS HAPPEN WHEN YOU TRUST GOD AND MOVE OUTSIDE YOUR COMFORT ZONE!!!

For one I was able to make new friends and even plan a “play date” with a few other artists.

I was instructed on a variety of topics including cutover care, business practices, personal growth, and artistic development.

I ALSO was introduced to a fellow photographer who’s work I have been crushing on for a few months!

So a few minutes of awkwardness paid off in spades!  Here’s to embracing the things outside your comfort zone!
