Yes even my family is getting ours done by the amazing Megan Siana on the 14!
So how do you prep for your photos?
First question- Dad, will he wear jeans or slacks? If it’s jeans then blue is a part of your color scheme.
Next Question- Mom, what will she feel comfortable in? Jeans or Dress. If Dress have blue in it or a blue sweater. If jeans don’t wear the exact same color as dad on top.
Kids: you know your kids. For my daughter i had to ask “what do you want.” If you have little boys and they’re in jeans, pick plaid tops. I strongly suggest if the colors are loud, not to put them in matching. Older boys stay away from band or character shirts because it will date your photos more so. Little girls: if they’re in dresses or skirts put shorts under!!
Pick your 3 solid colors. For us it was “cream, blue, and grey.” Then as we picked the outfits I stayed to those colors with little extras.
Here’s my exact process:
1- Husband wears jeans
2- I like dresses do I will wear a blue dress (it also compliments my eyes)
Side Note: i have fat arms, big thighs, and left over belly from pregnancy so I pick a
dress that has wide sleeves (so my arms appear smaller), or wear a sweater that
only shows my forearm (the smallest part). It flares at an empire waist (that plus the
belt makes my mid section look 2/3 its true size). And I look at actresses that arent
size 0 to see what they wear in public (I will never be an Angelina Jolie, but whatever
shapes Amy Schumer can rock I can too!)
3- My daughter picked a cream colored skirt with gold polka dots
4- My Husband has a cream button down
5- I have a white, cream, & gold belt and nude shoes
6- Daughter has a grey/blue top with small flowers & gold writing, and a navy blue sweater.
7- Husband adds a grey sweater on top.
BAM coordinated outfits.
For big groups pick 3 basic colors only, always let blue be one. DO NOT have everyone wear black or white on top unless you want floating heads.
